With regard to your grooming question, please call Flathead County Parks at 758-5800 to find out if/when they plan to groom.

And thanks for the reminder to those not on skis to please avoid the tracks. It is indeed a courtesy to skiers.

Happy Trails!

Great snow this past week. What happened to occassional grooming? I still have great fun skiing, however, I am asking fellow park users to not walk or snowshoe in ski tracks, a "share the trails" courtesy.

Hiked to the Overlook from the Notch Trail Sunday. The ice was coverred up by the new snow, didn't need the Yaak Tracks. Won't be long and we'll be able to ski it!

Had a nice hike to the lookout today. Still very little snow, and trails are very icy! We slipped a few times coming down even with yak trax on.

FTBT has new digital trail use counters in place. The pie chart shown on this page is for the
month leading up to December 22, 2011. As you may have observed,
the most popular days are Saturday and Sunday. Notice how consistent the
user numbers are for weekdays. This means that the FTBT trails have a consistent user base and that Herron Park is part of their daily lives.

Have a great New Year. Foy's to Blacktail aims to add 50 more acres to the park in
2012, with your donations! Thank you for your support.

Had a great walk with Maurice yesterday. The parking lot was full, and there were a few cars down by the green gate, but shoot, I think we only saw about 3 people during the 2+ hours we were out there. Stables to Lower Horse to Scary Stump, up to Foy's Overlook and down the new Notch trail. What a fabulous asset to this community!

Had a nice walk with the dogs this morning in the snow. It's amazing how serene it is up there even with several cars in the parking lot.
