Here's your chance to keep the FtBt trails open forever!

Foys to Blacktail scored a major breakthrough in late September 2007 when The Conservation Fund stepped in and purchased a 320 acre parcel adjacent to Herron Park from Louisiana Livestock and Timber. This land is commonly assumed to be part of Herron Park and is heavily used. See the map to view the parcel locations and trails in the Herron Park area.

One way the nonprofit Conservation Fund works is to buy land and then hold it while local organizations raise money to purchase it back from the fund. In other words, The Conservation Fund is a bridge buyer and the Foys to Blacktail Trails group is raising money to purchase and permanently protect the land from development. This joint effort will secure the most heavily used section of the entire Foys to Blacktail trail system--if we (with your help!) can raise the money to buy the land.

Our community must raise $2.5 Million by September 2009 in order to purchase this keystone property and to secure the historic recreational access in this beautiful area. Sound overwhelming? Not when we "Buy an Acre" at a time! Those able to donate at the $7000 level or above will "buy an acre". When we've raised enough to buy a 40 acre parcel, it will be added to Herron Park. "Buy an Acre" donors will recieve special recognition on a permanent sign or plaque--a great opportunity to show the Flathead Valley that your family or business cares, or to honor or memorialize a loved one.

Of course, smaller contributions are also very important to this effort. FTBT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible.
